Kuan-Chang Chen Wins Charles Wilts Prize

Kuan-Chang Chen, advised by Professor Azita Emami is a winner of this year's Charles Wilts Prize, for his doctoral thesis "Energy-Efficient Receiver Design for High-Speed Interconnects." The Charles Wilts Prize is awarded every year to a graduate student in Electrical Engineering for outstanding independent research.

Kuan-Chang (Xavier) Chen Receives IEEE SSCS Predoctoral Achievement Award

Graduate student Kuan-Chang (Xavier) Chen, working with Azita Emami, Andrew and Peggy Cherng Professor of Electrical Engineering and Medical Engineering; Investigator, Heritage Medical Research Institute; Executive Officer for Electrical Engineering, has received the 2020-2021 IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) Predoctoral Achievement Award. The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society awards a small number of promising graduate students annually, which are made on the basis of academic record and promise, quality of publications, and a graduate study program well matched to the charter of SSCS. Best Student Paper Award at IEEE CICC Conference

Professor Azita Emami's group in collaboration with Professor Wei Gao’s group has won the best student paper award at the 2020 IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference. The title of the paper is "A Fully-Integrated Biofuel-Cell-Based Energy Harvester with 86% Peak Efficiency and 0.25V Minimum Input Voltage Using Source-Adaptive MPPT." The IEEE CICC is a premier conference devoted to integrated circuit development. The conference program is a blend of oral presentations, exhibits, panels and forums. Kuan-Chang Chen Receives 2015 Henry Ford II Scholar Award

Electrical Engineering student Kuan-Chang Chen, working with Professor Azita Emami, is a recipient of the 2015 Henry Ford II Scholar Award. Kuan-Chang is a member of the Caltech Mixed-mode Integrated Circuits and Systems Lab (MICS) and is researching analog and mixed-signal circuits and systems. The Henry Ford II Scholar Award is funded under an endowment provided by the Ford Motor Company Fund. The award is made annually to the engineering student with the best academic record at the end of the third year of undergraduate study.
